This book tells the story of the collection presented on Rue de la Verrerie on January 23, 2003 after years of silence. This collection marks a decisive return of the couturier after eleven years of withdrawal from the fashion system. Faithful to his demands and timeless vision, Alaïa offers with this collection a manifesto of technical and stylistic virtuosity.

This cahier d’étude also offers unpublished images, including black-and-white photographs taken by Bruce Weber for Vogue Italia, which express the new femininity thought by Alaïa—powerful, delicate, and free. The texts signed by Carla Sozzani, Olivier Saillard, Joe McKenna, Laurence Benaïm, and Emanuele Coccia immerse the reader into the details of a collection that reinvented the idea of haute couture.
