A bid on Fashion
Azzedine Alaïa Foundation
The MA in Fashion Studies is continuing its collaboration with the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation, exploring heritage and fashion through a new project focusing on the fashion designer Christian Dior and Azzedine Alaïa’s unique documentary archives.
During the spring semester of 2026, Parsons Paris students enrolled on the course ‘Fashion, Memory and the Politics of Heritage’ — taught by Antoine Bucher — had the rare opportunity to work in close collaboration with the Foundation.
‘A Bid on Fashion’ presents the results of their work in four display cases featuring previously unseen documents from the Azzedine Alaïa archive and much more besides. These four display cases explore the relationship between fashion and heritage as a cultural and economic process, revealing the role played by institutions such as museums and brands, the scale of auctions, and the hidden figures within the practice and discourse of fashion heritage.
The event will also provide an opportunity to launch the publication ‘PrintingFashion#6’ , which focuses on the theme of ‘Technique’, and which will be on sale at the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation shop.
