azzedine alaïa dresses, fall-winter 1992, fall-winter 1993, spring-summer 1991 ph. Gabriele and Thomas Zimmermann

Among the five creations of Azzedine Alaïa chosen to illustrate the fashion of the fifties until 1990, three particularly extravagant ones show how much the great stars of show business, such as Tina Turner and Grace Jones, appreciate the art of his fashion, which is known for its curves that enhance their bodies. The couturier uses the extensibility of fabrics and knits, modulating them with his unique know-how to fit the woman's body.
A gift wrap with a knot pattern for a tubular knitted dress (F/W 1992). A dress (F/W 1993) cut from a precious knit with bands of wool combed into soft pink silk on a smooth white background that move in and out of line with the shape of the body. Finally, a very elegant black crepe dress (S/S 1991). Two of the eight panels of the skirt are pulled up over the chest and attached to small loops. A leather belt brings the drapes closer to the body below the chest and a second belt adjusts the waist.
