PARTICIPANTS OF THE AZZEDINE ALAÏA AWARD, ESMOD SCHOOL, TUNISIA, NOVEMBER 2023

For this 2nd edition of the Azzedine Alaïa Tunisia Scholarship with the participation of Esmod Tunisia, the student candidates for the Foundation's Awards presented their work before the jury consisting of Afef Jnifen, Carla Sozzani,  Olivier Saillard, and Montassar Alaya.

The members of the jury designated as winners:

1st prize Azzedine Alaïa: Samia Hmaidi 

2nd prize Azzedine Alaïa: Ahmed Ben Salem

Montassar Alaya announced to the students the content of each grant:

1st prize Azzedine Alaïa: a €2,000 grant and  an internship in Paris at the Foundation and in the ateliers of Maison Alaïa.

2nd prize Azzedine Alaïa: a €1000 grant and an internship in Paris at the Foundation and in the ateliers of Maison Alaïa.

Olivier Saillard underlined the high quality of the student's work all and also paid tribute to the teachers.

To develop their educational missions towards young people, the Azzedine Alaïa Foundation and Maison Alaïa has partnered with the Esmod school in Tunis to organize a competition in 2020 and bestow grants to reward the creativity and talent of two students.

Chaired by Farida Khelfa and coordinated by Montassar Alaya, the student candidates for the Foundation's Awards presented their work on 20 November 2020 via videoconference before the jury consisting of Jocelyn Imbert, Afef Jnifen, Farida Khelfa, Olivier Saillard, Carla Sozzani and Sara Sozzani Maino.

Farida Khelfa, president of the jury, underlined "The high quality of the work" of the students and "the high level of the Esmod school". The members of the jury were all impressed, and despite the difficulty in making their choice, they designated as winners:

1. Azzedine Alaïa Grant: Eya Kalaoui

2. Jury Prize: Rami Ghades

Farida Khelfa congratulated the lucky winners: "You have a great future in fashion. Continue to work as Mr Alaïa has done all his life".

Olivier Saillard particularly wished to commend all of the participating students as well as the teachers. "We were all very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the entries, the good craftsmanship and construction of the garments, the differing creative universes of each candidate. Congratulations! The Alaïa Foundation could not have hoped for a better partner than Esmod Tunisia, under the patronage of Farida Khelfa and the presidency of Carla Sozzani, to support all the people from this region and to reveal the great talents that you will be, we will be there to welcome you. "

Montassar Alaya announced to the students the content of each grant:

For the 1st winner: a €5,000 scholarship and residency an internship at the Foundation and in the ateliers of Maison Alaïa.

For the 2nd winner: a €2000 scholarship.
