SELECTION

Gabrielle Chanel began her career as a milliner. In 1910 she opened her first Parisian boutique, and began designing clothing, liberating women by giving them an androgynous look, with straight dresses and trousers that had previously been reserved for men. In 1926, Coco Chanel designed the famous little black dress. The design became a classic for the fashion house and, more generally, for fashion.
