Yves Saint Laurent

In 1955, Yves Saint Laurent begins working in the studio of Christian Dior and when the latter passes away in 1957, he takes over as head designer of the house. He founded his own house in 1961 with Pierre Bergé. Saint Laurent had a decisive influence on fashion thorughout the second half of the 20th century. His thematic collections and his designs that had women appropriate éléments of the masculine wardrobe, including the tuxedo that he made a success in 1966, established a legend.
