In 2013, Azzedine Alaïa was asked by the scenographer Jean Nouvel to collaborate on the production of the opera Les Noces de Figaro.

Together they worked on the architectural model for the production while also deciding on the materials and colors for the decoration.

For the costumes, Azzedine Alaïa dressed the character of the Count in mesh and gold, the Cherub was in a frock coat, white shirt and pants, with a military coat in green leather, and Suzanne wore a wedding dress in white mesh ... it was Alaïa who had had the idea of getting the performers to dress themselves onstage, and it was also the first time he designed male clothing.
